Meet Michael St. Pierre, Ed.D.

I’m thrilled that you want to explore CCMA and the community of professionals that make it special. Having been in professional ministry for over 20 years, I can say that CCMA is far and away my favorite community to serve. My story is likely not unique but nonetheless worth sharing.

"I'M 19 YEARS OLD AND DON'T KNOW HOW TO PRAY..."

That was my thought when I was a freshman in college.  Having been raised a Catholic Christian in a good home, I had a general sense that prayer was something I was supposed to do.  The only problem was that I had no earthly idea how to do it.

Thankfully, God put in my life a Catholic campus ministry program that provided role models for me to learn about prayer and so much more.

I’m blessed to be married to my wife, Cary, for 23 years and the be the father of four wonderful children.  We make our home in Bethlehem, PA, the Christmas City.

My degrees include a B.A. in Philosophy (Catholic University of America), an M.A. in Theology (Seton Hall University), an M.A. in Educational Leadership (Seton Hall University) and an Ed.D. in Education (College of St. Elizabeth).

My articles have appeared in Our Sunday Visitor, Busted Halo, Momentum, Give us This Day, Catechist, America and Productive Magazine.  I have been an adjunct professor at Seton Hall University, The College of St. Elizabeth and Saint Joseph College. In 2017 I received the Seton Hall University Many Are One Alumni Award. I serve on the Board of Directors for Mission Madera, a non-profit serving students in Uganda and am active in my local men’s group.

In 2019 Ave Maria Press published my first book, The Five Habits of Prayerful People: a No Excuses Guide to Strengthening Your Relationship with God. My podcast is called Pausing for Prayer.

Ok what else besides work?

  • Hiking- anything within two hours of my house and then it goes into the database of treks.

  • I love to walk my dog, Ace, who also happens to be the unofficial mascot of CCMA. He never tires at my jokes.

  • Boston Sports- from the Bruins to the Sox, Patriots and Celtics… what’s not to love?

  • My first job was picking vegetables at a Massachusetts farm. I’m not sure that qualified as “ministry” but I tried my best.
