Facilitating these conversations will be Dr. Maureen Day and Fr. Cody Jorgensen, OP.
Dr. Maureen Day is a sociologist and theologian who studies Catholicism from a variety of angles. She is currently a Research Fellow at the Catholic University of America where she is researching the factors connected to priestly wellbeing and burnout. She has also published many books and articles, including Young Adult American Catholics: Explaining Vocation in Their Own Words. She is excited to bring the latest research to your ministerial context!
Fr. Cody Jorgensen, OP, is the Director of Student Mission at St. Catherine Catholic Center in Salt Lake City. Fr. Cody entered the Church at the Prince of Peace Newman Center at the University of Washington in 2008. During his undergraduate studies in Biochemistry and Informatics, he was trained as a student leader in campus ministry. Entering the Order of Preachers in 2011, Fr. Cody was educated in the philosophical and theological traditions of the Order (especially St. Thomas Aquinas), and has a Masters in Philosophy and a Masters of Divinity. His area of focus is sacred music and the liturgy. During his formation at St. Albert the Great Priory in Oakland, CA, he spent a pastoral year in campus ministry at St. Thomas More Newman Center at the University of Arizona, and spent a year studying in Rome at the Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas (Angelicum). He was ordained in 2019 and was sent to St. Catherine’s in Salt Lake City the same year to lead student ministry.
