That New Car Smell
When was the last time that you rode in a new car? It may have been your own vehicle or maybe you just hitched a ride with a friend.
The new car smell… it’s unforgettable.
It’s not just cars that exude something when they are new. New grocery stores attract huge crowds. New restaurants are the most busy in their first few weeks. Let’s admit it- we like new things.
As we’ve turned the page into 2020, newness is all around us. New year. New decade. New resolutions. If you’re like me, you’ve had mixed results when it comes to New Year’s resolutions. Some have stuck and most have not.
What I’ve found to be effective is this: limit the number of “new things” and write them down. As you head into 2020 and help your students to do the same, you can be atrusty guide-on-the-side.
After all, the Christian life is charged with hope- for new beginnings and in the everdeep mercy of God’s love.
