The Uniqueness of College Faculty
In my most recent Weekly Update email (if you’re not yet signed up, you can do so here), I shared the following interview between Dr. Bill Kristol and Dr. Paul Cantor of the University of Virginia. Underneath the video, I share why I found this to be so relevant to the Fall 2020 opening.
What I found so fascinating about Dr. Cantor’s perspective is the sense of pressure that academics feel this Fall. No doubt, college administrators are sensing this as well. No one likes to see their institution in the news with a headline that reads, “College X Blew It” on Covid-19 plans.
Covid-19 has been a gut-punch for every college in America. The tuition-heavy model isn’t sustainable for most institutions. What might come after Covid-19 is anyone’s guess. What I hope we do not return to is a return to the business models that have brought us to this point.
