New Board Members for CCMA
In addition to a new Episcopal Moderator for the Association (Archbishop Bernard Hebda), six new board members for CCMA have recently been named and will help the organization continue to expand as it strives to connect, equip and inspire campus ministers and chaplains across 300+ campuses. Effective July 1, the following individuals will begin a three year term of service:
Archbishop Bernard Hebda, Archdiocese of Saint Paul & Minneapolis (Episcopal Moderator)
Succeeding Bishop Fernand Cheri, OFM, Archbishop Hebda will be the new Episcopal Moderator for CCMA.
Hilary Draftz, West Area Director, FOCUS (Colorado)
Hilary became a full-time FOCUS missionary in 2005. She has served FOCUS on various levels of campus and regional leadership and as director of Quality, Growth, & Innovation. She currently leads a team of six regional directors who work directly with over 200 missionaries on over 40 college campuses from California to North Dakota.
Andrew Kelinsky, Senior Accountant, Paciolan (California)
A Certified Public Accountant with experience in multiple industries and an MBA candidate at University of California-Irvine, Andrew was active in campus ministry as an undergraduate at Loyola Marymount University.
Nicole Labadie, Director of Campus Ministry, University of St. Thomas (Texas)
Nicole is a wife and mother. A native Texan, she graduated from St. Edward’s University in Austin and received her Master of Divinity from the University of Notre Dame while serving as an Assistant Rector for Liturgical and Spiritual Life. Prior to St. Thomas, she served as a campus minister at the Rice University Catholic Student Center.
Kathleen Merritt, Director of the Office of Black Catholics and Native American Ministries, Diocese of Charleston (South Carolina)
Kathleen is the past President of the National Black Catholic Congress Catholic Education Foundation. Kathleen co-authored the book; Catholic Education in and for the Black Community (2007). She also served as Secretary for the NBCC Board of Trustees (2008-2010). Kathleen is the immediate Past President of the National Association of Black Catholic Administrators; Served as a consultant for the USCCB Secretariat of Cultural Diversity in the Church Committee on African American Affairs (2008-2011); Consultant to the USCCB Office of the Pastoral care of Migrants and Refugees(2006-2007) Past President of the South Carolina Council of Catholic Women Greenville Deanery; Board Chair for Greenville Mental Health Center Board of Directors, South Carolina Department of Mental Health (2006-2008); and a member of the Knights of Peter Claver, Ladies Auxiliary and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
Nathan Metzinger, Vice President for Mission, St. Paul’s Outreach (Minnesota)
Nathan served with NET Ministries both as a missionary and as a Team Supervisor. He benefited from SPO formation during this time and was part of an SPO small group. Nathan has extensive experience in human resources with particular emphasis on recruiting, training, and organizational development with both Fortune 500 and small privately held companies.
Dr. Danny Pugh, Professor (formerly VP, Student Affairs), Texas A&M University (Texas)
Danny has an extensive background of experience in Student Affairs, most recently serving as the Vice President of Student Affairs for six years. Danny previously served as Vice Provost for Student Affairs at the University of Arkansas, Dean of Students and Associate VP for Student Life at Eastern Washington University. He has also held positions at the University of Georgia, Virginia Tech, and the University of Tennessee.
