CCMA Partners with Notre Dame’s McGrath Institute for Church Life for Pathways to Communion Project and Launches Campus Ministry Service & Justice Innovation Hub to Advance Evangelization

The Catholic Campus Ministry Association (CCMA) is thrilled to partner with Notre Dame’s McGrath Institute for Church Life in the transformative Pathways to Communion Project, made possible by a major grant from the Lilly Endowment, Inc. This groundbreaking collaboration empowers CCMA to amplify its mission of forming bold, joyful Catholic leaders who not only transform the world but also expand the Church’s reach, evangelizing and engaging more students with the life-changing message of the Gospel.

In alignment with Pathways to Communion, CCMA is launching the Campus Ministry Service & Justice Innovation Hub, a five-year initiative designed to reinvigorate service and justice efforts on college campuses. This program not only strengthens Catholic identity but also serves as a vital tool for evangelization, drawing young adults to Christ through actionable faith and a commitment to Gospel values.

Key Features of the Campus Ministry Service & Justice Innovation Hub:

• Annual Think Tank Gatherings: Five selected campuses will receive training and up to $5,000 grants to design innovative service and justice programs that inspire deeper engagement and evangelize through acts of love.

• Sustainable Resources: Development of 25 toolkits and an online repository of resources, equipping campus ministries nationwide with tools to sustain impactful programs that connect faith and action.

• Publication: A comprehensive book documenting best practices and success stories to inspire future campus ministry efforts and expand the Church’s reach among young adults.

“We are thrilled to partner with Notre Dame on the Pathways to Communion project and to launch this initiative that aligns so closely with our mission to engage young adults in faith and action,” said Rosie Chinea Shawver, Executive Director of CCMA. “Evangelization is at the heart of this effort. Through service and justice, we aim to connect students with the transformative power of the Gospel and ignite a deeper relationship with Christ.”

By bridging the gap between personal spirituality and social action, CCMA seeks to draw more students into the Church’s mission, build communities of faith, and inspire lifelong dedication to service and evangelization.

More details on CCMA’s participation in Pathways to Communion will be shared in coordination with the University of Notre Dame’s official press release here. For more information about the Catholic Campus Ministry Association, visit www.ccmanetwork.org.
